'These Boots are made for walking alot!!!'

Maybe it’s just the furor of fashion week coming around the corner, but from Diane von Furstenberg to Jay Manuel, some of the industry’s biggest names have been doing really, really nice things lately.


Now, Nine West is throwing its hat into the charity ring, and in a very creative way. Footwear News reports that 40 top models will wear Nine West boots everywhere they go, with pedometers built in to count how many steps they take. The Jones Apparel Group, Nine West’s parent company, will pay for the steps by means of a donation to the Runway Relief Program, a partnership between the CFDA and Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. All told, they anticipate to raise $75,000.


And to help them reach that goal, the models who’ve signed on plan to do a lot of walking.


“I plan on waking up extra early so I can walk to all my castings, fittings and shows,” said Coco Rocha. “I want to be the model who walks the most for this cause.”


And with that spirit of healthy competition among them, the models are sure to take these boots all over New York for the good of the cause.

Sonja arrived in New York last week and is thrilled to be back especially because she gets to stay longer than a week this time. She'll be shooting her show card this week and getting ready for the show castings. Before jetting off to New York, Sonja had a great shoot with Vancouver photographer Kin Chan. Lovin the new pics!

'Athens, London, next is Milan'

Renae had a great summer working in Athens and London. Next stop for her will be Milan in September!

'Tokyo Tina'

Tina really enjoyed her time in Tokyo earlier this year. After a fun summer at home in Kelowna, she's looking forward to heading back to Asia in the fall.

Kortney has graduated from high school and is ready to travel with some great options for this fall. Her recent creative with Flotography added some great new photos to her book.

'New faces to watch'

Kristina had a growth spurt this summer and hit 5'8! She'll continue to build her book and has a few good options pending for Asia. Alida is building a great book and her latest creative with Michael Chan is proof of that. Keep your eye on these two girls!!

'Shanghai was amazing'

Lauren just returned to Vancouver from a model assignment in Shanghai, China for 5 days to visit her parents and is now is back east for confirmed model assignments in Toronto and Montreal. She already has an agency in New York who are going to represent her.

'Loved Osaka'

Sarah has just returned to Vancouver to resume her studies after a very rewarding trip to Osaka, Japan.

'A model on the move'

Ryley has just finished a successful contract in Tokyo and is on her way for model assignments in Toronto and Montreal. After this she has been confirmed for agencies in Paris and Milan.

'Paris and New York love her.'

Chloe was a huge hit in Osaka Japan in 2009. She has just finished a contract in Paris and is now on her way to New York where she has confirmed bookings.

'Milan was great!'

Nicoletta just finished her contract in Milan and is now in London.

'I love the shopping in Singapore'

Kaitlin is in Singapore and has already been booked in exciting fashion magazines.

'Love Vancouver but Toronto is now home'

Zoe completed very successful model assignments in Vancouver, Taipei, Australia, Toronto and Montreal. She is now focusing her career on acting in Toronto, and for sure we will see her soon in a TV series or major movie.

'I now live full-time in Tokyo'

Sarah was just home to Vancouver for a few weeks to visit with her parents. Sarah is in so much demand in Tokyo that she has become a 'star' there. Good job Sarah.

'Thanks, love Vancouver, but Singapore is better.'

Lisa has modeled in Tokyo, Hong Kong and finally decided that Singapore was the place to be. She continues to book great model assignments and has just returned from Paris.

'My home is now New York'

Tamara from Vancouver has made New York her home. She continues to book huge modeling assignments and is now in her first year at medical university. She will soon be a doctor, way to go Tamara.

'Love Vancouver, but time to travel'

Bryanna has offers from Toronto, Montreal and New York. Now that she has finished school it is time to travel.
